DETAILS SALON SPA GIVES NEW MEANING TO THE TERM "WHITE HOT"

ST. PAUL, September 1, 2004 - Lutefisk, snow... sometimes pale in Minnesota is a good thing. But for some, summer is all about getting and keeping a healthy summer glow. Details Salon Spa now offers Summer Glow, a new treatment to help those who want to safely hold onto their summer glow long after the sun has set on summer.

Summer Glow is a two-step full-body treatment, which involves gently exfoliating the skin to remove dull skin cells, increases circulation, and relieves stress. It refines the skin; leaving it soft, smooth, and moistured. Aveda Sun Source sunless tanning lotion is then applied to produce a streak-free healthy glow. The Summer Glow service is $70 and the entire process takes about an hour.
Aveda's Sun Source is designed to help maintain a healthy bronzed look for up to a week. In addition, clients can take the remaining tanning lotion home for touch-ups.
Details Salon Spa focuses on personalized high-end salon/spa services that include: cuts, color, perms, massage therapy, facials treatments, manicures/pedicures, and waxing. Details' commitment to the environment, community, and various charitable organizations is shown through its commitment to the AVEDA Concepts and grass roots level charitable events/shows.

EXTREME MAKEOVER: ST. PAUL GOES FROM "NOT HOT" TO "HOT SPOT"
Another one of Brian's many adventures From Trendsetters to Trend Seekers, Downtown St. Paul Becomes the IT GirlST. PAUL, May 6, 2004 - "Whoever said "Go West young man," has obviously not been to St. Paul lately. Once the ugly stepsister to downtown Minneapolis, downtown St. Paul has grown to be a formidable mecca for arts, entertainment, restau rants, and nightlife. And from the increase in businesses, residents, and patrons, people are taking notice. From events such as the St. Paul Winter Carnival and 2004 NHL All-Stars game to restaurants such as Fhima and Pazzaluna, St. Paul has increasingly become the hotspot for what's new, hot, and fun. And one of the forces behind this Cinderella transformation is St. Paul After Hours (SPAH).

St. Paul After Hours is a St. Paul based corporation. Founded by the beauty and brains team of Brian Horst (Details Salon Spa) and Kyle Johnson (Move Media), SPAH is a task-based organization focused on improving and enhancing downtown St. Paul's retail and service industry. By establishing a centralized organization for the retail and service industry, SPAH's mission is to be a source of information for both businesses and patrons in order to better serve their needs.

SPAH focuses on helping to lead the growth and development of downtown St. Paul by developing a cohesive business community, generating more revenue and exposure, and increasing the number of businesses, residents, and patrons. This mission was identified through Horst's own experience as a business owner of Details Salon in downtown St. Paul. In an attempt to be more accommodating, Horst made the decision to extend his hours of operation to meet the needs of the residents and employees of downtown St. Paul. This move received tremendous feedback from customers and the business community.

As a result, Horst formed SPAH to help other businesses also expand business hours into the evenings and weekends, and to organize a concerted group effort to promote downtown St. Paul's retail and service businesses through better communication and cooperation. As business owners and active members of the St. Paul community, Horst and Johnson have the knowledge, experience, and dedication to lead SPAH in the growth and development of downtown St. Paul. The first project is the "Awakening Project," which aims to facilitate communication between downtown businesses and residents through print, television, radio, and web advertising. A directory of downtown retail and service businesses will be published through SPAH's website and a bi-annual publication, The Downtown Story. Additional marketing communications projects include: email blasts, direct mail, and special community building events, such as the Charity Fashion Jam at the McKnight Theater and the 2005 SPAH charity calendar.

In addition, SPAH has been developed in alignment with the St. Paul Downtown Development Strategy, is a 10-year policy plan initiated at the request of the CapitolRiver Council (the official citizen participation organization and planning organization representing downtown residents, businesses and institutions), and sponsored by the Saint Paul Planning Commission. SPAH has joined forces with and has the support of a number of key organizations such as, CapitolRiver Council, Capital City Partnership, City of St. Paul and the St. Paul Chamber of Commerce.
